Comments
City of Macedon in Greece, known in ancient times as Aegae (=goats) which was the name the Macedonians gave to it. Today, it retains its original name Edessa (Ύδωρ-εσσα), which derives from the Phrygian word for water (εδ - < Feδ - < PIE * wed- “water”).
