The name Alexandra is one of the earliest attested Greek names. It also appears in Hittite records from 1280BC and is considered to be some early Greek ruler, maybe the Alexander of Ilion mentioned by Homer. Alexander was also the 10th King of Corinth. The name is mostly known by Alexander the III of Macedon, also known as Alexander the great.
