Comments
This account is from Clement of Alexandria, who wrote in Stromata Book 5 'it is said that the Phrygians call water Bedu'. Just like Socrates accounts, those words have not been attested in Phrygian inscriptions nor is there a strictly linguistic account (e.g Hesychious) that confirms those sayings.

The PIE (a)ku̯edu with a common Greek gʷ> b, kʷ> p phonetic mutation, could have resulted the Phrygian βεδυ.

Another PIE suggestion is that Phryg. βεδυ is nasalized Illyr. Bindus “water god” and therefore the root would be gʷheid-

So far only ΑΚΑΛΛΑ (IE *akw-) has been attested as a valid Phrygian word for water.
